Lyme disease, the most common tickborne disease in the United States, can cause fever, headache, fatigue, and a characteristic skin rash called erythema migrans. If left untreated, infection can spread to joints, the heart, and the nervous system.[2]
TickCheck™ can determine with 99.99% accuracy if the tick that bit you carries Lyme or 10 additional tick-borne diseases. Here's how it works:
Symptoms of Lyme appear days or weeks after the initial bite. Only tick testing enables you to determine if you were exposed to a tick-borne disease before symptoms ever appear, allowing you to discuss proactive treatment options with your doctor. Get your tick tested now!
Lyme disease is the most common disease transmitted by tick bites, and Virginia is a high-risk region. Symptoms commonly mimic influenza and arthritis, and may develop into serious neurological or cardiac conditions.

Outstanding. When you're waiting for the results know that they will stay in contact when they receive the specimen and when to expect results. It takes a load off. I've now had five or six specimens and thankfully all were negative for everything. I recommend if you can forward it to do at least the $99 testing. Having work for a lab before I know that they know what they are doing.
Testing turn out results were fast and prompt! Mailing the tick was also easy. The peace of mind of testing is great.
Every time we find an attached tick, I send it to TickCheck, they send me a text/email as soon as they receive it, letting me know about the specie of the tick, and one or two days later, they send me the test results. It takes the stress off knowing that I know what to do after I get the results, and in most cases, the ticks were not Lyme carriers, preventing the unnecessary intake of antibiotics. I am so happy I found them, they make our NE springs and summers so much less stressful!
This service is so worth the money. Knowing that the engorged tick you find on your dog is negative for disease provides so much peace of mind. No need to treat your dog with antibiotics, which are overused leading to antibiotic resistance.
The company was excellent in every respect. Their website is accessible, the service was prompt and highly efficient. Their communication was first-rate. I was also happy that the little bugger who bit me proved to be negative - but I was just happy to have the official word. Couldn't recommend them more highly. Nasty work to do - and they took it on in very positive ways.
