Lyme disease, the most common tickborne disease in the United States, can cause fever, headache, fatigue, and a characteristic skin rash called erythema migrans. If left untreated, infection can spread to joints, the heart, and the nervous system.[2]
TickCheck™ can determine with 99.99% accuracy if the tick that bit you carries Lyme or 10 additional tick-borne diseases. Here's how it works:
Symptoms of Lyme appear days or weeks after the initial bite. Only tick testing enables you to determine if you were exposed to a tick-borne disease before symptoms ever appear, allowing you to discuss proactive treatment options with your doctor. Get your tick tested now!
Lyme disease is the most common disease transmitted by tick bites, and Connecticut is a high-risk region. Symptoms commonly mimic influenza and arthritis, and may develop into serious neurological or cardiac conditions.

This program is impressive. They responded, over a weekend, within an hour of sending a tick photo for identification. Their testing is also prompt and thorough. They received the ticks I sent and within 24 hrs and I had a report with the result analysis. They were available to ask questions about shipping. Their pricing is competitive. I paid $100 to have three ticks tested for several pathogens. Since this is a University affiliated program you can also be assured you are getting what you pay for unlike some of the other tick testing companies out there I had looked into that are not as well respected and reliable. I definitely recommend TickCheck. The peace of mind was worth the $100 and they made the process very easy!
This is a great company if you need to be sure the tick you found is free of Lyme and other pathogens....the are kind and supportive and very experienced. The report came back in less than two days with all the information I need...If you find out quickly that the tick has a pathogen you can work quickly to get the proper treatment. I have sent them 2 at different time and have been lucky no Lyme. You have no idea what peace of mind it brings me. I recommend them completely.
Found an engorged tick on me—clearly had been there 72+ hours. I live in an area that is high risk for Lymes (50% of deer ticks near us are carriers) so sent it off. Mailed the tick Friday (regular mail), received notice the following Tuesday (4 days) it had been received by the lab & just got my results less than 30 hours from receipt at lab. Very pleased.
They were extremely accommodating and tested my tick within a little more than 24 hours! They were available to ask questions by phone, which I appreciated. Also, they retain the specimen for two years in case you have other questions about it. I love the fact that the comprehensive panel test for every test that a particular tick could have for a reasonable price. Highly recommended!
During a recent family trip, I found a tick in my calf when I woke up on Saturday morning. Fortunately, I was able to remove the tick easily (even managed to keep it alive, albeit not a requirement for processing). Found TickCheck via a Google search and the process was straight-forward to pre-order a lab test, send in the tick and got my results in just a couple days. Relieved to learn that "my" tick was not a carrier for Lyme or other common diseases. Highly recommended service if you or someone you know is in need of similarly having a tick tested!!
